Whistleblowing Channel

Introduction

In compliance with Law No. 93/2021 of 20 December, transposing Directive (EU) 2019/1937, Rifer - Indústria Têxtil, Lda provides an internal whistleblowing channel for reporting infractions or irregularities of which whistleblowers become aware in the context of their professional relationship with the company.

Legal Framework

This whistleblowing channel is implemented under Law No. 93/2021 (General Regime for the Protection of Whistleblowers), which establishes rules for whistleblower protection and the regime for reporting infractions in organizations with 50 or more employees or subject to specific obligations.

Scope

The following infractions of European Union and national law may be reported: corruption or related offences; financial and economic infractions; environmental infractions; public health infractions; data protection infractions; labor infractions; and other serious irregularities.

How to Report

Reports may be submitted in writing via the dedicated email address: denuncias.rifer@gmail.com. You may also send a communication by registered mail, addressed to the whistleblowing channel manager, to: Rifer - Indústria Têxtil, Lda — Whistleblowing Channel, Av. da Riopele, 68, 4770-405 Pousada de Saramagos, Portugal. Reports should contain a detailed description of the facts, identifying, where possible, the persons involved, the period of the facts and any evidence.

Confidentiality

The whistleblower's identity is treated with the utmost confidentiality and is accessible only to persons expressly designated to receive and follow up on reports. Anonymous reports are permitted and will be analyzed provided they contain sufficiently concrete facts.

Whistleblower Protection

RIFER guarantees protection of whistleblowers against any form of retaliation, including dismissal, suspension, change of duties, discrimination or any other unfavorable treatment motivated by the submission of a good-faith report. This protection extends to facilitators and persons related to the whistleblower.

Processing of Reports

Reports received are analyzed by the designated officer within 7 working days, with the whistleblower informed of the follow-up within a maximum of 3 months. All reports are handled impartially and with due confidentiality.
