Sustainability has become a central focus in developed societies. The textile industry has reinvented itself to meet sustainable development goals, prioritizing eco-friendly and natural fibers for sustainable fabrics.

With the emergence of stricter sustainability policies and increasing demands from end consumers, the textile industry has adapted by offering more eco-friendly solutions. At Rifer, we understand not only the importance of reducing our environmental footprint but also the specific needs of our clients. This understanding guides us in offering sustainable products that meet these needs while prioritizing ecological sustainability.

To meet market demands, we rely exclusively on certified suppliers who share our mission and values, using only eco-friendly fibers without compromising product quality. Let’s explore these sustainable textile materials and their contribution to a greener future.

Natural Fibers: The Power of Nature

Many of our sustainable textiles are based on natural fibers, offering comfort and durability. Fibers such as Supima Cotton and linen have a significantly lower environmental impact than other natural and synthetic fibers.

Organic Cotton: A Conscious Choice

What makes Organic Cotton unique is its growth process. Without pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or genetic modifications, it leads to a super soft, breathable, and environmentally friendly fabric. Our Organic Cotton fabric production chain is certified by GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), the most rigorous and globally recognized organic certifier.

Silk: Sustainable Luxury

Produced by the famous silkworms, Silk is a fully biodegradable fiber that requires less water than many other fibers. At Rifer, we only use Silk from sustainable sources, ensuring ethical production that respects the environment and animal welfare.

Its natural thermoregulatory properties make Silk versatile for various textile applications year-round. Its unmatched shine and softness make Silk an elegant option for luxury products like bedding, scarves, and ties.

Supima Cotton: Quality and Sustainability

Supima Cotton is produced through sustainable agricultural practices, including crop rotation, efficient irrigation, and the use of organic pesticides and fertilizers. What sets Supima Cotton apart from Organic Cotton is its extra-long fibers, which are carefully harvested to reduce waste and ensure premium fabric production. Supima Cotton is mainly used in high-quality apparel, bedding, and towels. Its softness and durability make this fiber an excellent choice for demanding consumers who prioritize quality and environmental consciousness.

Linen: Sustainable Elegance

A vegetal fiber that stands out as one of the most eco-sustainable solutions available. It grows with minimal water and pesticides, making linen a key fiber in our production process. The entire flax plant is used during the process, minimizing waste.

Valued for its durability and freshness, linen is a summer favorite. Given its elegant and sophisticated appearance, linen fabric gives rise to home products like bedding, curtains, and apparel.

At Rifer, we ensure an eco-friendly production that supports the European economy by exclusively using Euroflax, also known as European Linen. This fiber is grown in coastal areas of Belgium and France, renowned for their excellence in Linen production due to the humid climate and rich soils.

Ramie: Durability and Elegance

Ramie fabric is unique in its renewability. Like linen, Ramie is a plant fiber that grows without needing abundant water or pesticides. Its harvest is its differentiating factor. Since it can be harvested several times a year, Ramie is a truly ecological solution.

Known for its strength and moisture absorption, it’s widely used in apparel, upholstery, and decorative items. Its natural texture and fungal resistance make it perfect for various textile applications.

Eco-friendly Artificial Fibers

At Rifer, we’re at the forefront of textile production. We prioritize eco-friendly innovation by incorporating artificial fibers with reduced environmental impact and combining technology and ethics.

Tencel Lyocell: Eco-friendly Softness

Extracted from wood pulp from sustainably managed forests, Tencel Lyocell is one of the most ecological fibers. Its revolutionary closed-loop production process promotes the reuse of water and solvents.

Super strong and breathable, this fiber creates fabrics that excel in softness and elegant shine. Given its properties, Tencel Lyocell is widely used to produce bed and bath linen.

Modal: More Conscious Comfort and Quality

Similar to Tencel Lyocell, Modal fabric is derived from beech wood pulp. Its growth is highly efficient, using little water and energy. Known for its durability, softness, wash resistance, and low maintenance, it’s popular in underwear, sportswear, and pajamas.

Lenzing Ecovero Viscose: Sustainable Innovation

Like the previous two fibers, Ecovero Viscose is produced from certified and renewable wood. Its process has a lower environmental impact than traditional viscose, requiring less water to grow prosperously and generating fewer carbon emissions. This fiber is also traceable, ensuring transparency throughout the production chain.

Viscose is widely used to produce apparel, decorative fabrics, and fashion accessories. Its natural softness and sheen make this fiber an excellent choice for dresses, blouses, and scarves.

Recycled Cotton: Circular Economy

A crucial part of our sustainability efforts is using recycled fabrics to reduce waste and conserve resources. This is where our Recycled Cotton products come in. This fiber is made from discarded or surplus textiles, which are collected, sorted by color, shredded, and processed to give new life to fabrics. Through this process, water consumption and the use of chemicals are reduced, maintaining the properties of cotton but with a significantly lower environmental impact.
